Vacancies exist for teacher assistants in the PreK Counts Program within the Office of Student Services for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. This position serves students ages 3-5 years old.

Qualifications:

• Applicants must meet one of the following:

1) Completion of at least 2 years of full-time postsecondary study
2) Possession of an associate's degree or higher

3) Possession of a Child Development Associate's certificate

• Ability to work with and relate to young children and families of diverse backgrounds.

• Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, the Child Abuse Registry and PDE FBI

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Teacher Assistant assists the teacher by performing essential classroom tasks, helping to supervise and accompany students during activities within and outside the classroom and aiding the teacher by working with the students in small groups or on an individual basis in various instructional and learning activities.
