A vacancy exists for a Network Administrator in the Office of Technology and Information Services with the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit. 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree - Computer Science or technology major preferred
• 4+ years of Network Engineering experience.

• Possess advanced skills with Cisco, Traffic Manager type devices

• Minimum of two Industry certifications required (MCSE, CNE, CCIE, etc)

• Experience with DNS and IP administration

• Expertise in LAN protocols such as HSRP, Spanning Tree Protocol, and VLAN trunking

• Experience with TCP/IP, RIP, OSPF, BGP and EIGRP

• Hands-on experience with WAN network topologies and Strong organization skills

• Strong customer service skills with exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Successful track record completing network engineering projects

• Knowledge of caching technology, RADIUS and TACACS useful

• Knowledge of Network Management tools, such as SolarWinds monitoring and Snort DDOS mitigation

• Must be able to work unsupervised, be a self-starter, well organized and be able to multi-task

• Ability to remain calm under high-pressure atmosphere

• Must be a quick learner that embraces change

• Current child abuse, criminal history and FBI fingerprinting clearance within the year

Duties & Responsibilities:

To provide on-site and in-house systems management and engineering support for MCIU LAN and WAN infrastructure, application services, servers and storage systems.

Salary:

$67,200 - $92,800

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm
