A vacancy exists for an LTS Teacher at the Detention Center within the Office of Student Services for the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.

Qualifications:

• Valid PA certification in Special Education (N-12 or 7-12) and ONE or more content area (English 7-12, Math 7-12, Social Studies 7-12 and/or Science 7-12) preferred
• Experience working with students in an alternative education placement preferred
• Current police, child abuse and FBI Fingerprint clearances required
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire)

Duties and Responsibilities:

 The teachers are responsible for providing instruction to general education as well as special education students.  Duties include the following: Planning and implementation of instruction, developing assessments, monitoring student progress, communicating with families and/or school district personnel, writing IEP's and re-evaluation reports, facilitating IEP meetings, working collaboratively with instructional team.

Estimated Work Days and Hours:

Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours per day

Salary:

$47,000-$65,000 (pro-rated)
