Description | A vacancy exists for a Training and Consulting - Secondary Mathematics Instruction, Intervention and Behavior at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit.. This is a full-time, 194 day position in the Office of Student Services. This position provides technical support, consultative services, and professional learning to clients who provide education to ALL learners; works with school district, IU, PaTTAN staff; various agencies; and parents responsible for the education of learners with special needs.
Qualifications:
- Pennsylvania Instructional II Certification in Special Education and Mathematics (secondary preferred).
- Experience in math instruction or intervention (RtII/MTSS) and experience working with students with behavioral needs.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills for building an environment with a common instructional focus, promoting initiatives, and conveying expectations
- Experience providing technical assistance and delivering professional development preferred
- Ability to work effectively with professional personnel in educational agencies
- Current Child Abuse, PA Criminal History and FBI Fingerprint clearance (dated within one year of hire)
Responsibilities:
- Support Montgomery County educators in the use of effective instructional practices and strategies for students with disabilities with a focus on Secondary Mathematics and Behavior.
- Applied knowledge of: PA Core Standards and Chapter 14, Data Driven Decision Making, Response to Instruction and Intervention (RtII)/Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), Differentiated Instruction, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), Inclusive Practices, Co-Teaching, Progress Monitoring, Educator Effectiveness: Framework for Teaching, PVAAS.
- Respond to school entities, including MCIU, and their requests for technical support, consultative services, and professional learning assistance.
- Collaborate with PaTTAN and other IUs regarding PDE and Bureau of Special Education initiatives.
- Provide information and training to parents, teachers, and administrators in learning more about the education of students with disabilities.
- Participation and leadership within regional councils and forums.
- Plan and participate in regional and statewide conferences, workshops and planning sessions.
- Assist in the development of resources (i.e., brochures, training modules, etc.)
- Occasional overnight travel may be required
Salary:
$56,000 - $110,534
